There were 8 different sites short listed for the project between east coast and west coast. Upon further research into the memory of these places, a 'Parking Lot' in downtown Providence, RI was confirmed as the site for an urban and architectural intervention. The reason was the complex and challenging pragmatic constraints posed through the context of the site. As I talked more with people, place and memory of recent past, I knew it had to be addressed. The program and design takes shape from the people, memories and the site itself.
